So I recently went to Hawaii. I love my job. I get to travel, constantly, and however much I do not like being away from wifey-poo, I do enjoy being able to see the sights, as they say. Anywho, the trip was quite spectacular. Never having been to Hawaii. Went to Honolulu and it was a good time. The ending was quite spectacular because within 24 hours I was propositioned by a hooker, saw the O'neil world surfing championship, the USS Arizona memorial at Pearl, witnessed the wrath of God, and was horribly annoyed by a four year old at the airport. So I flew about 24 hours total for three days on the island. I would say it was worth it. I would have enjoyed more time to explore, but needs of the company are needs of the company. So I have some pictures to share.
This is the view from right outside my room. It was a pretty sweet deal.
Downtown Waikiki, actually right where the hooker said, "Why not complete your night with a Hooker?" I do giver her props for her straightforward marketing ploy.
The O'Neil Surfing competition. The week after I left the North Shore had the best waves they had had in a long time and held the
Eddie Aikau Invitational. Which means the waves were huge. I thought they were pretty big when I was there too.
The USS Arizona. That is the oil slick which is still leaking from the submerged portion of Her.
So all in all a lightning trip to Hawaii, but still by and large worth it. Oh, on a side note, I am now going to connect through Denver instead of O'hare, it is way better.
